My wish would be that I could create my lanes and geometry files one time and that Synchro could create multiple timing plans from the one roadway description rather than having to update multiple files whenever a signal is added or changed configuration.
Perhaps you could add curb to curb length measurement for Synchro to provide flashing don't walk times.

I agree that it would be great to have one file for everything. Enter the geometry once, and then be able to enter multiple timing plans for different portions of the day.

To go along with this, we would also need to be able to enter different volumes for different times of the day (and corresponding PHF, %trucks, etc, etc) for each scenario.

I like this idea, but I would hate to see a total overhaul of how the data is managed. I'd suggest a setup window that lets you create multiple time periods that can be read from one Synchro file. These multiple time periods could be stored as geometry free UTDF files. Adding a drop-down box to the toolbar would make it easy to toggle between your periods.

It would go without saying that you would also want to import UTDF files to be associated with your setup dialog. A "Save Period Only" button would also be handy.

No big changes, just better data management. Just a thought.
