My requeusts:
1. Synchro roundabout still does not give delay. I would want delay from synchro. just for roundabouts i do not want to use SIDRA or RODEL.
2. I hate the help file format for version 7. A PDF of the whole thing may be helpful for printing the guide but not for seraching. can It go back to the format of version 6?
3. If you do not make any change in Synchro, just save it. Simtraffic starts to run. It is sometimes very frustrating. can it be changed?
4. Sometimes a vehicles show unrealistic behavior in simtraffic. (for instance, i have seen it several time, a car is trying to merh from ramp, now the car travelling along the road and car on the ramp, both seem to stop and both stay there minutes after minutes; is it realistic? in rela life someone would move) can it be changed?
5. When we put pedestrians it changes the vehicular delay to some extent (as it should be), but that cannot be seen in simtraffic? can it be done?
6. To have the option of having a scope where we can have the whole link to edit (for name or speed limit). Say after creating a huge network, we found that the speed limit is changed, we do not want to slect each intersection, we want an option where we can select the network to make the change.

That is all for today. Smile

1. I would like to see a better compression on the S3D files. If I'm lucky, they're usually in the 20 to 30 MB range. I have had some that push 300 MB though. Do I really need them if I'm just looking at SimTraffic and not 3D?

2. DXF control. Not being able to move or scale a dxf can be frustrating. Sometimes it would be easier to move a dxf than to move everything else.

3. It would be nice to manually move the volumes and street names, and a reset button somewhere would be good. Can the background color for the street names and arrow diagrams be independant of the overall background color (and include none)?

4. I find the mouse wheel zoom counter-intuitive.

5. New files defaults. In my area we usually do not use lagging phases, tapers are longer than 25 feet, crosswalks are narrower than 16 ft, all-red is longer than 0.5 sec, etc. I'd like to set my defaults for every new file Synchro creates (including detector templates).

6. I can live with the roundabout setup until the new HCM comes out, but I'd like to see their channelized right turns improved.

It would be nice to be able to specify a location to save .hst files. We have problems in needing to keep the .syn files on the network so they get backed up, but the .hst files eat up lots of space. Just need to be able to save them on the C: drive (or anywhere else).

Options to do ramp metering would be nice. If implemented, it would need to be able to do single car per green, multiple car per green, and each lane independently (ie, actuated) as well as fixed cycle.

Thanks for the great program, hope that you can get some of these into the next version.

Hi All,

Thanks kindly for the great remarks. To make my life easier, for any future suggestions go ahead and Use New>Discussion to create a new thread. That way, I can add my comments to your suggestions. Some of the suggestions might currently be doable or might have a work-around suggestion I could give.

Thanks!

John.
