I often have networks running on the same cycle length but choose to split my green band somewhere in the middle. I trick the time-space diagrams by adding a dummy signal with a different cycle length at the break point, but this is a pain especially if I forget to remove it before trying to run SimTraffic. Ideally, I'd like to define coordinated segments differently for each direction as well.

Sure thing. I used zones all the time, but the time-space diagrams are oblivious.
