Suggestion: A toolspace button which, when clicked, displays the two-way traffic volume along a segment as calculated from adjacent nodes.
Since user-inputted turning counts usually vary from intersection to intersection, this function would possibly display three (3) different values for the user: 1. The roadway segment volume as calculated approaching/departing the 1st intersection (displayed along the link nearer to Node #1 to indicate the source of calculation); 2. Segment volumes as calculated approaching/departing the 2nd node (shown on the link nearer to Node #2); 3. An average value of the above two (2) values (shown directly central on the link) A function like this, in my opinion, would help in several areas: visualizing peak-hour segmental traffic, estimation daily volumes, comparisons to machine counts, and the verification of agency-adopted k-values |
