Is it possible to set up one 3d viewer model, with buildings and trees, and copy those settings to another model? For instance I have created twenty scenarios and now I want to create 3d files of all these scenarios, but with the same buildings/trees in the same location in every file.

Hi Chris,
You can do this. The object type, location is stored in the *.s3x file. So, launch file1 in the 3D Viewer. Then, place your objects and close the file. When asked if you want to save the 3d file, choose Yes. Next, go to the directory with the file1.s3x file. Copy this file and past in the directory where file2, file3, file4, etc. are located. Rename the copied file to file2.s3x, file3.s3x, etc. This will place the objects in file1 in the same location for the other files. Thanks, John. John Albeck Trafficware |

I'm closer but still not there. I followed the instructions but when I play the new file it has the old animation. File2 plays File1 animation. So the buildings are there but the new scenario is not. It seems when I copy the .sx3 file and change the name. The file2 calls for the file2.sx3 file but file2.sx3 still has the old animation and is still linksed to the old file. So even though I change something so it will reseed the 3d file doesnt. Any ideas, I think I'm close I just need it to know to reseed.

Hi Chris,
Try opening the file2.s3x file with Notepad. The topline will read: historyfile=filename1.s3d Change this to be: historyfile=filename2.s3d But, replace filename with your true filenames. Thanks, John. John Albeck Trafficware |
