Is there a way to use customized 3d objects (3ds files) in 3D viewer? Thanks!

Hi Gavin,
At this time, you would need to use our models. Each model has required "cleaning" to be used in the 3D viewer. At some point, we plan to allow users to enter their own models. However, this may require a single object editing program be used since not all 3d objects are created equal. In addition, adding your own models can create reference problems. If you share your file with another user, they would need to have your objects library. But, as I say, it is something we are looking at. I appreciate your comments. Thanks, John. John,
I am glad this question was brought up because I was under the assumption that one could import user generated 3DS files into the program. I personally wouldn't use any of these generic objects in my files because it would only serve the confuse the public as to the location of the intersection. I was hoping that one could create 3D place specific locations for use in the program. Any thoughts of when this functionality might be added? Thanks, Bruce Allen DelDOT |
