Hi all, I was wondering if there is any way to import the data from Synchro to Excel so when there are some changes made in the input data, the output changes automatically in excel??
Thanks

Hi Behtash,

Not really to Excel, but to a CSV file. Take your Synchro file and use the command Ctrl+D. Select the data tab of interest and Write the data out. you can open and edit this with a spreadsheet. The updated data can then be read back in.

This is the very simplified explaination on Universal Traffic Data Format. You'd want to refer to the Help file for full details on the UTDF file spec.

Thanks,

John.

Thanks John, I was trying that last week but for some reason it wasn't working. I'll give it another shot.

Thanks again,

The one John is refering, will not transfer the LOS info (I may be wrong), more importantly i do not think it will save the results automatically whenever you make change in the synchro file.
in the report option, you can save text to excel. but again, it will not save the results automatically whenever you make change in the synchro file.
Someone need to write a prgram/macro to make it automatic. It is still not in synchro's capability.
John, correct me if I am wrong.

Jahid is quite right. I believe I misunderstood the original question. My response was about the input data. Synchro can export input data (not MOE outputs) to the UTDF file format. This give the ability to edit data with other software.

However, the outputs are not saved to UTDF. Basically, each time you open Synchro, it will take the data and compute the MOE's. You can then generate a report and save to a text file just as Jahid has mentioned. Each change would require the user to use the Save Text again to export out the data.

Thanks,

John.

Use of Macros seems to be the only way to have the output data updated automatically. I am not sure how to set it up yet, but i will be working on it and hopefully get it running, will let yall know how it goes.

Cheers.
