I am trying to code a network and when i do the coding error check i get the following error "Volume received at intersection, less than 70% sent". When i check the volumes i input they are correct. What might me the possible cause of this error ?
what is the volume balance? check the "VB" button, it will tell you if there's an input imbalance. there might be some congestion in the network, preventing the vehicles from arriving?
Yep, what Eric said is right on. If they don't match, check your growth factors. It's not uncommon to have a growth rate set for one intersection but forgot to do this for the other.
I am using Synchro 5 and there is no VB. But i checked the OD volume balancing and it looks fine. Also my roadway (links) are at an angle. Can that be an issue ?
Hm...old version...let me think back... if the intersection approaches aren't opposite ie, say you have a NS/EW intersection, but due to the angles the SB leg shows up as SE instead. your turning movements might not be going where they're supposed to in this case, plus, through movements might show up as turns instead, which will slow them crossing the intersection (as they're moving at a turning speed instead of link speed across the intersection)
