Hello Folks,
I am reading a project scope and came across the following: Network Analysis: The Consultant shall perform a network analysis using the Synchrony Pro package as a preprocessor for data entry into the NETSIM or CORSIM/SYNCHRO software package. This task includes the coding of the network, including distances between intersection, geometrics, volumes, timings and any other necessary data for three time perids for an existing and up to two proposed conditions. My questions are: 1. Is the above mentioned package preparation tool included in the Synchro? 2. Or is is just the normal coding of the network and inputting the necessary data? Regards, Ramesh Reddolu, E.I. |

Are they talking about the 'UTDF' in the above mentioned scope?

Hi Ramesh,
First, my guess is that "Synchrony" is a typo. I believe they might be referring to the full version of Synchro (not the Light version). Synchro Plus (includes SimTraffic) has a pre-processor for the surface street portion of CORSIM. This is separate from the UTDF. This preprocessor is the NETSIM portion of CORSIM. Note: NETSIM and FRESIM (freeway model) used to be separate. They came together to form CORSIM. As noted, Synchro will create the NETSIM records. Maybe others can commment, but consider this transfer a good start. There likely will be additional coding required in CORSIM. It depends on the complexity of the network.
