Hi,
Iam new to synchro. I am currently analyzing a network with more than 16 intersections. Six of them are signalized coordinated. The rest uncoordinated. I have pooled the first six and onoptimizing, i get a LOS of F. I have added additional left lanes, thru lanes, but these seem to be not helping.

Could anyone please tell me whats the best way to get the LOS to improve atleast to a D?

Could someone enumerate all of the cheaper options to be considered in such situations?

Thanks a bunch

just curious, are you new in traffic engineering also (not intended to make fun of you, just to be sure what to suggest)

Depending on the jurisdictions practice, you might think of playing with cycle lngth, offset and timing. when you are adding lanes, where are you adding lanes? try having a thrugh lane for every 800 cars, and turn lanes for every 300 major street. for minor it is 400 and 150. see what happens. if you have heavy rights, may use free rights.
keep posted whether it solves the problem.
