I am trying to program two similiar intersections on an arterial and can not get it quite right.
Each signal operates like this Phase 1 and 5 (Main street LT, protected only) come up together Phase 1 off. Phase 2(straight) on with phase 5 (LT) Phase 2 & 5 off. Phase 6(straight) on with phase 1 (LT) Phase 5 off. Phase 2 with phase 6 (both straight) on. Phase 2&6 off. Side street phase 4 & 8 on |

Megan, This is a strange phasing pattern. But it can be done using sequential phasing. Go to the "Ring and Barrier Designer..." and select a sequential phasing with 5 phases (one for each line of phase combination you mentioned below).
Then, in the Timing Settings window, use the following numbers in the "Protected Phases" row: EBL 1 3 EBT 3 4 WBL 1 2 WBT 2 4 NBT 5 SBT 5 In the Permitted Phases row, type in the following numbers NBL 5 SBL 5 I did a sample intersection with made up numbers and above phasing pattern and it worked just fine - I wanted to attach a screen capture of it here but I don't think I can. If you want it, send me your email address to me via private message and I can email it to you. Thanks.

very interesting signal sequence. sounds like it attempts to account for limited storage on the phase 1 left turn. Can you tell us where this intersection is so we can check it out on google maps?
