Hi,
I have updated to the new build 612. I'm have a scenario where I have a right-in/right-out access 115 m west of a signalized intersection. What happening is that the eastbound queue would exceed the 115m during peak hour from the signalzied intersection. However, when I run SimTraffic, once vehicles are queued passed the RIRO access, all east/west bound vehicles are “jammed-up” at the RIRO access when the eastbound vehicles from the traffic signal is clear-up. If I deleted the simulation and re-run it, the jam might not happen again, but sometime it might. What can I do to avoid this? Thanks, Ken |

Hi Ken,
It may be related to the lane change distances for vehicle approaching the signalized intersection. In Synchro, click on the link between the RIRO and the signal. Choose to edit the EB Lane Change Distances. Increase the Mandatory distance, and maybe even the Positioning distance. My guess would be a vehicle was attempting to make a lane change when stopped by the backup, thereby getting stuck. If you would like us to look at the file, please feel free to send this to us. Thanks, John. John Albeck Trafficware |
