I've coded a dual left turn lane in Synchro to have 400' of storage. When I run SimTraffic, the storage lanes are only holding 8 vehicles in each lane (passenger, 16' long, 5' spacing). There is a lot of spillback as a result. How can I get SimTraffic to accuratly refect the proper storage length? thanks!

Hi Derrick,
Are you getting any warning messages when you do this? I can think of two things that would cause this: * You link that the storage pocket is on is less then 400'. For instance, you have a bend node on the link. * The intersection in question has a very large width caused by an acute angle. Large intersection create large spaces and will start to reduce the amount of available storage. In cases like this, you might get a warning about the angle of your intersections. If that doesn't seem to explain it, please send us the Synchro file and we'll be happy to investigate. Thanks, John. John Albeck Trafficware |
