In a training session, the presenter was saying the seeding tine should be long enough so that a vehicle can travel between two extreme points of a networ. does it make sense? if yes, why? if not, why not?
to me it can be really long, a 15 mile corridor can take 30 minutes to travel, that can overestimate the queuing in the network.

Hi Jahid,

That sounds like a good rule of thumb starting point. You want to try to reach equilibrium. The larger the network, the longer the seed time. You can open the SimTraffic Help File and try a search on "seed".

A good source of info on this can be found in the FHWA Traffic Signal Toolbox, Volume III. You can find this at the following link:
