After editting counts on a small net my animation has slowed to unusable speeds. Does anyone have ideas on what I need to look for to fix this?

background processes...memory usage...hard drive speed...
the animation will slow considerably if you animate a large volume of vehicles. This will depend on the size of the network of course, which you say is "small" how small is small?
