hello,
What is a typical length of Seeding Interval that one should be using for a 60-minute simulation? I was under the impression that it was sufficient to allow enough time for a vehicle to fully traverse the network. This would depend on the size of the network, of course. For a small network, is it appropriate to set the Seeding Interval to 60 minutes? When I do this, I get very different SimTraffic results than when I set it to 5 or 10 mintues. Any thoughts would be helpful! thanks Dave |

Hi Dave,
I think the best thing to do is point you to a FHWA resource. They have developed a Traffic Analysis Toolbox that is located at: http://ops.fhwa.dot.gov/Travel/Traffic_Analysis_Tools/traffic_analysis_toolbox.htm You'll want to look at volume 3, although all three volumes are very informing. In volume 3, appendix C is relavent to this discussion. Thanks, John. John Albeck Trafficware |
