I've been asked to do an LOS analysis comparing an existing "STOP" sign controlled 4-way intersection vs. a proposed 4-way roundabout. Would the Control Delays and LOS's in Synchro's HCM Unsignalized report for the "STOP" sign controlled intersection provide an apples-to-apples comparison against the Delay/Vehicle reported in SimTraffic's Performance Report? If not, can anyone suggest a way to calculate LOS's for comparison between types of controls?

Hi Mike,

I would not suggest comparing the delay/LOS from Synchro to the delay in SimTraffic. However, it would be appropriate to simulate the Stop controlled and the roundabout and then compare the simulation measures.
