I am modeling 4-phase sighnalized intersection plus the exit ramp located 100 feet south of it. The northbound approach consists of 1 LT, 2 Thru and 1 RT lanes. Left and Right turn lanes both have a storage length of 200 feet. I have a problem of adding the exit ramp for the southbound lanes, as the link added 100' south of the intersection interferes (in SimTraffic) with 200'-long NB Lt & Rt storage lanes. Is there any solution other then creating two parallel links with two synchronized signals?
Thanks. |

Hi,
You might be able to handle this by creating a 5-leg intersection with the fifth leg as the ramp. (Note: in v7, this might work even better. The fifth leg could be offset from the intersection). Another option would be to move the ramp further away so it does not interfer with the storage. You might also leave the storage coded as zero at the main intersection. Then, create a taper on the other side of the ramp to add the lanes. Thanks, John. John Albeck Trafficware |
