I am coding an arterial that is somewhat congested. At every signalized intersection, the Synchro results for Delay/Veh and SimTraffic results for Delay/Veh (obtained from performance summary by approach) are totally different. What can be the possible reasons/coding errors in modeling.

Hi,
I would expect different results for Synchro and SimTraffic. This is a macro (Synchro) model vs. a micro (SimTraffic) model. It is a pretty detailed discussion, so I think the following link will be very useful: http://www.trafficware.com/assets/pdfs/Time_for_Simulation.pdf I think that the FHWA has a good site for differences on the different models. There site can be found at: http://ops.fhwa.dot.gov/trafficanalysistools/toolbox.htm Thanks, John John Albeck Trafficware |
