I would like to know how to model the signal timing properly when ther is ped phase is 30 sec green but little ped volumes. There are very few vehicles on the side street when the main street requires more green time.
What ped walk time I should use - given ped time 30sec or weighted average (18sec) of ped and non-ped time (i.e. corresponding time according to ped volume and walk time). I tried to utilize "Optimize - Intersection Split" options but its not talking into account the change of ped calls to influence green time distributon. I guess optimization is governed by cycle length and max split values. There is no influence on side street green time if there is any change in ped call. Can you please suggest how to model ped call for actuated signal system that effectively influence the green time. Thank you, Transportation analyst BA Group |

Hi Dewan,
I think that there is a good discussion on this in the Help file. Go to help, and then search on 'Occasional Pedestrians'. That will bring you to the topic of interest. Thanks, John. John Albeck Trafficware |
