I am trying to model a traffic circle that has a 400' diameter, and 3 of the 4 entering legs have a SUPER WIDE (one is 250') median. Is it possible to use the roundabout feature to achieve this? I have been trying to model it as a roundabout with 7 legs. SimTraffic always gives me a "range check" error. Is SimTraffic limited to 6 legs at a roundabout?
Do you have any other suggestions for modeling this traffic circle? |

Hi,
Yes, I'm sorry but you're not going to be able to simulate this many legs in a roundabout. It's possible that this could be changed for our future models. With a roundabout this big, it may not really function like a roundabout. In a case like this, you might model this the old fashion way. That is, with a series of unsignalized intersections that are entering a series of links that you have created. For instance, if you have 4 entry points, you would create links that are in the shape of a diamond. Thanks, John. John Albeck Trafficware |
