Does anyone know of a way to take the simulation that you can view in SimTraffic, and place is as a link on a PowerPoint slide, or paste it into a PowerPoint slide? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It would probably be easier to have the simulation ready to go, and then just minimize the powerpoint when you want to talk about it.
You can also use Insert -> Object... in power point to put an icon for the *.syn file on a slide. Right click the icon, then select "Action Settings". A new window opens, and you have some options. You'll want to "Run program" and browse for the program location. (That'll be something like C:\program files\trafficware) Select Simtraffic as the program to launch when the file is clicked. Another option is to record a video in 3D viewer and insert that in your slideshow. That way you don't have to mess with another program, just a large video file. Just make sure you have the same program launch location (and program) on the presentation pc, or that the video can play on the presentation pc. Hope this helps Mark |

Hi Rob, I do this often
To do that I use SnagIt, a screen capture software. Once I record my video (with no compression) I import it in Windows Movies Maker and make a .wmv video. Then I import the .wmv in PowerPoint. To finish I use the "Package for CD" fonction in PowerPoint (under the file menu). I tried many video compression software and Windows Movie Maker is the one who give me the best result and the video run on every computer running under Windows. No codec problem and for a 800Mb video file Windows Movie Maker compress it to 15Mb. Hope this helps Jean François |
