what is the maximum number of intervals that simtraffic can simulate? We're attempting to replicate an 8-hour time frame with a 15 minute seed interval. we have the CSV broken into 32, 15-minute intervals. Is there a difference if some are recording intervals and some are not?

Hi Eric,
I believe you have this answer from me, but I thought I'd share on this site: ------------------------- SimTraffic has a limit of 19 intervals plus 1 seed interval (total of 20). This is hard coded this way. You could combine some hours where the volume is very constant. For instance, you could have a UTDF file with the following UTDF format: Turning Movement Count 15 Minute Counts DATE TIME INTID NBL NBT NBR 10/29/2008 500 1 10/29/2008 515 1 10/29/2008 530 1 10/29/2008 545 1 10/29/2008 600 1 10/29/2008 700 1 10/29/2008 800 1 10/29/2008 815 1 10/29/2008 830 1 10/29/2008 845 1 In this example, you'd put 15 minute volumes in for each row. In the Intervals and Volumes tab, 500 to 600 would be 4 15 minute intervals. Then, have an interval for 600 and make it 60 minutes. Keep the volume in 15 minute format and the model will multiple this by 4. That is, if you have 100 vehicles at 600, it will simulate 400. The same is true for 700. Now, at 800, it will only simulate what volume is entered (not 4 x the volume). The reason is that 815 follows after 800. Thanks, John Albeck, Trafficware John Albeck Trafficware |
