When we try to simulate one of intersections with SimTraffic 7 we get the following error message:

Warning 129, Volume Density operation not recommended with long detection zone. Node #3 EBT.

It gives the same error message for the WBT.

We have advanced detection for both directions. A 35 foot detection zone at the stop bar and a 6 foot detection zone at 160 feet from the stop bar.

The simulation still runs, but I want to make it sure it's modeling what we have in the field.

Hi Scott,

Think of this as a suggestion, not a hard warning or error. The added text for the warning is:

"Volume Density operation not recommended with long detection zone. The travel time across the detection zone will effectively be added to both the Minimum and Maximum gap times, making the operation less effective. Check the Time to Reduce, Time before reduce, and Minimum Gap settings."

There are no problems with modeling this. That is, this warning will not cause false results.
