I had a couple of questions about the SimTraffic Performance Measures:
Denied Entry Before/After: Is this a count of the number of vehicles denied entry over a certain time period or in a single instant? I'm guessing it's in a single instant. So at the end of my simulation period, it's the count of vehicles at that moment that have been approved to enter but couldn't. So if in the middle of my simulation I had a surge of vehicles and had many denied entry vehicles, but by the end of my simulation they had all been able to eventually enter the link, the Denied Entry After number would be zero and the mid-simulation denied vehicles wouldn't be reflected. Can you confirm whether that's correct? Density: This is the average feet per vehicle, so a higher number would indicate less density because vehicles would be spaced farther away from each other? |

Check out the Denied Entry section on page 24-2 in the Users Manual or the Help pdf. Also, look at the section on denied entry on page 23-9 of the same.
It looks like it's the number of vehicles that remain in the denied entry list at the end of a simulation or an interval within that simulation. SimTraffic apparently will continue to retry entering a denied entry vehicle until either it finally gets on or the simulation ends. Hope that helps. Mark |
