I have been using Synchro 7 for a little more than a month, and was a longtime user of Synchro 6. Some of the new 'features' in 7 are interesting. Others from 6 are missed.

As far as my question: on page 2-27, the Synchro Studio 7 manual states that default settings are available for Network Settings, Report Settings, Map Settings, Driver and Vehicle Parameters and Interval paramaters. The defaults are stored in a default.syn file in the Trafficware directory.

I have created a simple default.syn file and changed the critical parameters that are commion to many Synchro traffic models. However, when I create a new model, it does not (even when hitting the default button) change the parameters that I have stored in the default.syn file. As an example, I like to see the signal heads over the lanes of traffic, so I have been manually setting the display size to 2.00 metres. Also, after SimTraffic has rendered the model, the default play speed is 1.0x - I'd prefer it to be 4.0x.

Has anyone been able to create a default.syn file that is recognized by Synchro when building / simulating a new model?

Verify your file name. According to what you write, you forgot the "s" in end of the file name.

try with "defaults.syn"

It should work
