I'd like to use Synchro/SimTraffic to illustrate the benefits to two way progression from converting to FYA operation similar to that shown, especially the lagging protected left after permitted left.
http://projects.kittelson.com/...ash/4v_lead_lag.html Does your Dallas phasing permit this? (We have not implemented Dallas phasing, so I'm not up on the technical details of it.) This message has been edited. Last edited by: Val Rader, |

Hi Val,
The Dallas Phasing in Synchro basically set the left turn permitted phase equal to the opposing through. For instance, say you have an EBL that is a normal pm+pt. This would be assigned: Prot Phase 5 Perm Phase 2 But, if you change this to D.pm+pt, then it would be: Prot Phase 5 Perm Phase 6 This ensures that the left terminates with the opposing phase 6 to prevent the left turn trap. For this type of operation the left signal head is louvered so the adjacent through cannot see the signal. If you allow the FYA to continue with the opposing through, then you could set this to the Dallas phasing. Thanks, John. John Albeck Trafficware |
