Is there a way to model a max 1 and max 3 green time in synchro? Would you consider using the longer or the shorter time when modeling and intersection?

Hi,
Synchro does not allow a Max I and Max III, it is only one or the other. I assume that the Max III in this case is a value where the phase will extend the Max I (or II) to the upper Max III based on phase failures. No matter what the true definition is for your case, Synchro does not model this. If the phase rarely or never reaches the max (ie, rare phase failures), than model as Max I. But, if this is a very congested intersection and the signal is often reaching Max III, then use the Max III time. Maybe others out there have discovered a neat trick for this and could comment.
