If you have two intersections that are controlled by a single controller, it is always required that you put them on different rings.
The intersection that I am looking at is very simple. Two closely spaced T intersections. I have coded the overlapping through movements already to allow minor road traffic to proceed through the area between the two intersections without stopping. The resulting phasing did not put each intersection on its own ring. In the manual, it is stated that it is best to have them on a separate ring. Can anyone offer some more explaination on why that would be better than my current configuration? Thanks... |

Hi Matt,
You can put the intersections in the same ring if you wish (if that is your design). If using different rings, it does give some flexiblity in allowing some phases to terminate at different times. If they are coded as the same phase, they are tied together and you'd loose some of this flexiblity. Thanks, John. John Albeck Trafficware |

Matt, you can manually assign phase numbers by typing in the phae number under protected/permitted/detection phases on the signal page. You can code for more than one phase if the numbers you entere are separated by a space, ie "4 5" or "11 2" or whatever.
