A couple of suggestions for future releases. Perhaps other users would benefit...

1) Rest-in-Walk:

• In un-coordinated systems, to properly model side-street delay, which is often represented by the FDW interval,
  
• In co-ordinated systems, to properly model the walk interval on the arterial, which can vary due to gapped/skipped left turn or side-street phases. Modeling it in SimTraffic would be noticed on major arterials with consistent pedestrian volumes with shared through/right turn lanes, heavy RT volumes, or side-street/left turn phases that routinely skip or gap-out.

2) Differing phases for multiple detectors:The ability to assign a detector, say, 30 feet from the stop bar to call phase 7, but the stop bar detector to only call phase 4.

3) Anti-backup logic: The ability for a main street Protected/Permissive movement to place a min call on a side street movement so as to not back-up and create a left turn trap. I've modeled this in version 7 using a dummy-phase-setup, but a function would make this much easier.

Hi Jason,

Thank you for the suggestions. I have added these to the requested items list. Basically, Synchro/SimTraffic moving to some more of the features of controllers would be an overall goal.

I do think that 1 and 2 could impact the delay. Item 3 probably wouldn't have a huge impact on the delay results (I suppose anything is possible). And, Synchro won't have accidents due to backing into a trap... but, it's still nice to be able to model how this actually works.
