Hi,

I am trying to figure out what is the right way to coming up with a split for a un-coordinated phase of a coordinated signal intersection.

There are two pieces of information provided in the timing sheets, (1) Max Limit and (2) Phase ForceOff. When using these two pieces of information, I would get two different splits for an un-coordinated phase. Should I use the one with a lower split, assuming that this phase will reach to this point first and will be forced to end?

Also, I believe that Phase ForceOff information can only be used toward UN-COORDINATED phase, am I correct on this? Wondering if it can be used for coordinated phases as well. I have seen some timing sheets also provided some info for a coordinated phase but I am not so sure if this is way of doing this.

Please sharing any of your comments/thoughts.

Thanks,

mtran

It sounds like you are looking at a timing sheet for a Wapiti signal with a 170 / 179 controller. There is no easy way to convert the Wapiti style force offs to the NEMA style split divisions.

Your best bet is to draw a timeline, with relation to local zero and the zero of the system, then map the force off points from the synch points.

The best part will be trying to back-map to the force off points from the modified split divisions in Synchro...
